Three Southborough Wheelers took part in the 10th event in the 2008 SERRL (South East Road Race League) which incorporated the 2008 Southborough Road Race Championship, Graham Hills, Simon Whittaker and Neil Lewis. The 50 mile event was held over 8 laps of the circuit at Kenardington. Graham made a couple of moves early in the race to go with breakaways but the attentive bunch soon reeled these back. Neil and Simon stayed out of trouble towards the back of the bunch. With 2 laps to go, 2 riders escaped the clutches of the bunch and stayed away to the finish. This left a large bunch sprint for the minor places and with the club championship at stake both Neil & Graham tried to get in the best position possible. Neil taking an outside line had the misfortune of  having 2 riders in front tangle, Graham on the inside had a relatively clear run and crossed the line 4 places ahead to Neil to become the Club Road Race Champion for 2008. Simon finished towards the back of the field.
