Bettini is my tip for the first stage, if he's racing.
Riding the Tour of Austria so he is out. Valverde for the win tomorrow to make a physcological point.

Good call on stage winner, but maybe you would care to explain what physcological means Confused
To show the others how good he is, to rub it in, to take the mickey, etc. To demoralise the opposition.

But IMO it could rebound; if he holds yellow for more than a couple of days, the team'll get the idea to attempt to hold it start-to-finish. Especially if he does really well in the first ITT and has a good gap, making it possible to hold it at least until the first mountains. This would create impossible pressure on the support riders as well as Valverde himself and collapse in the 3rd week.

(Am I jumping the gun a bit here... Very Happy )

Physcological is not in my dictionary. Physiological is, so it could be that I guess. Psychological is too, so it could be that, and seems to fit in with your interpretation.

I like "physcological, it's a good word I reckon. Cool
