At the AGM in early December Warwick Dunford stood down from his post as Club Chairman.  This marked the end of almost 60 years continuous service on the club committee.  During that time, it is likely that he never missed a meeting.  He commenced official duties in 1953 or 54 as Club Racing Secretary and after 6 years or so transferred to Club Captain, where he organised and often led the weekly clubruns, weekend Youth Hostel runs and long weekend tours to areas further afield.  After that post, he became Club Treasurer, a job he filled for 17 years.  In all posts he has shown remarkable efficiency including his many years as Chairman, keeping a close eye and close involvement in the activities of all other officials.  He was elected President for a 3 year period in the 1980s.

In addition to his official posts, he has always promoted or assisted in all club open promotions and been actively involved with County and National affairs in the time trial world.  His long years as District Secretary of the CTT (formerly RTTC) saw him tackle a huge workload on their behalf.

A short distance time triallist in his younger days encouraged him to start timekeeping.  It was in this role that most current members know him best, along with his tireless duties at the Clubroom as mine host.  Opening and closing the clubroom for most of the 20 years we have been there and liaising with the Borderers management.

His remarkable punctuality at all times has led us to rely on him for so many things and we will always be grateful for his long service.

He was presented with a tankard, beautifully engraved by Peter Fox (club 25 mile record holder) in appreciation of this service.
