15 riders appeared at the Quarry hill start, but only 8 arrived within the scheduled time at the Star Inn at Matfield
David Parker and Les Hayman covered the course but were well out of their time bracket,whilst Peter Collier and Peter Rowe (who had left his car at Claygate as for last year’s course) were some 6 minutes adrift or so.
Meantime, Martin Yardley and David Watson all headed for home early on in the day with Alan Steinle going off course and getting back to Tonbridge having covered similar miles.
